Patient Representative on the East Midlands Clinical Senate reviewing proposed changes with the NHS, East Midlands, as well as other local committees in that role.

Type 2 diabetes for 18 years, on medication for about 15 years.
Interest: managing the condition through diet and regular exercise, aim being to avoid the many possible complications. I find the group very useful in providing education and stimulus to keep me motivated.
Experienced and qualified in Social Housing followed by a second career with Richmond Fellowship (community mental health). Following retirement my wife and I bought and ran catering businesses in North Yorkshire and Cambridge. Last year I was Father Christmas on The Flying Scotsman....it doesn't get better than that.
Member, European Guild of Speech Writers. Writing for someone's special event is enjoyable and helps keep the brain engaged. The same could be said about the Daibetes Group meetings.....I do hope you will give it a try. Type 2 diabetic for 15 years, successfully managed whilst resisting offers of increased medication.
